Ingredients

  • (1 Whole Chicken) Soy-Free Whole Chicken Bundle
  • (2 tbsp) Chili Powder
  • (2 tbsp) Paprika
  • (2 tsp) Dry Mustard
  • (1/2 tsp) Salt
  • (1/4 tsp) Black Pepper
  • (1/2 a 12 oz can) Your Favorite Beer

Directions

Beer Can Chicken is a backyard barbecue favorite that's as fun to make as it is delicious to eat.

Picture this: a whole chicken sitting majestically atop an open can of beer, perched upright on your grill like a poultry throne. As the bird cooks, the beer inside the can steams, infusing the meat with a burst of flavor and keeping it juicy. The result? A mouthwatering, tender chicken with crispy skin that's sure to be the star of your cookout!

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat, around 375 degrees.
  2. Mix brown sugar, chili powder, paprika, dry mustard, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl. Place half full can of beer in center of a plate.
  3. Prep chicken as you normally would. Then, fit whole chicken over the can of beer with the legs on the bottom; keep upright. Sprinkle 1 tsp of seasoning mix into the top cavity of chicken. Rub remaining seasoning mix over entire surface of chicken.
  4. Place chicken, standing on the can, directly on the preheated grill. Close lid and cook chicken until no longer pink at the bone and the juices run clear, about 1 hour 15 minutes, 165 degrees.
  5. Remove chicken from the grill and discard beer can. Cover chicken with a doubled sheet of aluminum foil, and allow to rest in a warm area for 10 minutes before slicing.
  6. Serve with your favorite barbecue sides, and enjoy!
