Looking for a no-fuss dinner that practically cooks itself? This tender, flavorful beef roast is made with just a few simple ingredients — Worcestershire sauce, homemade onion soup mix, and a splash of water. Let it slow cook all day, and come home to a meal that’s hearty, comforting, and perfect for cool fall evenings.
- Cook Time:
- Servings: 4-6
Ingredients
- (3-4 lb) Chuck Roast, Beef
- (3 tbsp) Worcestershire Sauce
- (1/2 cup) Water
- (3 tbsp) Homemade Onion Soup Seasoning (see recipe)
Directions
Homemade Onion Soup Seasoning (makes about 1 cup):
- ⅔ cup dried minced onion
- 3 tsp parsley flakes
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 2 tsp turmeric (optional)
- 1 tsp celery salt
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp sucanat or sugar
- ½ tsp ground pepper
Mix all ingredients together and store in a sealed jar. Use 3 tablespoons per roast or in place of a store-bought onion soup mix packet.
Roast Directions:
- Place the roast in the bottom of your slow cooker (frozen or thawed).
- Pour Worcestershire sauce and water over the top.
- Sprinkle with 3 tablespoons of your homemade onion soup seasoning.
- Cover and cook on low for 10–12 hours, until the roast is tender and falling apart.
- Shred and serve with your favorite sides — mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, or on sandwiches.
